NASCA LINES TOUR

3-day tour departing from Lima

Peru has so much to discover that you may find it is necessary to add on a few more days to your adventure.

Take this opportunity to board a scenic flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines in the sprawling desert of Peru as you wonder to yourself whether they are the work of art from an ancient civilization or something more supernatural. Then, when you get your feet back on the ground, lose yourself in the desert oasis of Huacachina just outside of Ica, completely surrounded by sand dunes and exciting activities like sand buggies or sand surfing! And as if you were not already checking off enough thrilling experiences, you can visit Paracas on the Pacific Coast of Peru with an excursion to the Ballestas Islands. Looking in towards the mainland on a beautiful boat ride, you can see yet another Nazca geoglyph, the Candelabrum, resembling a trident and plenty of ocean fauna.

3 Days Nasca Lines

ITINERARY

You will be picked up with private transportation and an English-speaking guide at your hotel in Lima and depart to Nazca along the Panamerican highway, a ride of about 6 hours.  You will be dropped off at your selected hotel before departing in the afternoon for the Nazca Lines flight.  You will be picked up by your transportation and guide for your awe-inspiring flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines that have baffled archeologists and each visitor since their discovery.  The flight takes about 30 minutes. (shared service). The Nazca Lines are gigantic geoglyphs located between the Palpa and Nasca desert, which were created by the Nasca culture between 200 BC and 600 AD. There are many individual figures, ranging in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, and lizards; even one that looks like an astronaut! The Nasca lines cannot be recognized as coherent figures on land, only from the air which makes them even more puzzling as to how they were created without some kind of aid.  After the flight, you will return to your hotel.
Important note: Nasca Lines flight is subject to weather conditions.  In this case, the flight may be operated this day or the following morning.

Today you will have the morning at leisure before continuing to the Pacific Coast where Paracas is located.  On the way, you will stop in Ica, this is where you can visit the interesting Regional Museum of Ica that exhibits objects from the Nazca and Paracas cultures.  In addition to this visit, you will stop in the desert oasis of Huacachina, just 5 km outside of Ica in the middle of the desert.  It is completely surrounded by sand dunes, however there is plenty to do with sand dune buggies and surfing!  Later you will arrive in Paracas and be dropped off at your selected hotel for the evening.
In the morning you will begin the excursion to the Ballestas Islands.  It is a panoramic tour with breathtaking views and amazing fauna.  (Shared tour). On the way to the islands you’ll be able to view the candelabra geoglyph standing out against the sand dunes, resembling a trident. The origin of this figure has many contradicting theories, which your guide will explain on the tour.  Once you arrive at the islands you can view sea lions, seabirds such as the Guanay cormorant and Peruvian pelicans, and if you are lucky, you may even see Humboldt Penguins. After this amazing day out on the water at the islands you will return to Lima and your selected hotel.

Hi Sofia. We had a great time on board Ocean Spray. The crew and guide were fantastic. Truly an experience my Grand daughters will not forget. Their dive trip was great. Our son in law who is a US AirForce dive master said it was one of the best organized trips he had been on.
Thank you for organizing all of this for my family. We reallly enjoyed it. Ray.

How much you enjoy your Galapagos adventure is going to be the quality of the boat and crew. In my case, working with Pablo Rea of Columbus Travel both were excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable, the crew were very helpful. They were always cleaning, and preparing for the next Zodiac excursion. All of the meals were very good and plentiful. The Galapagos is one of the top 10 destinations in the world, Do not miss it

Hello Pablo, The trip has been excellent. It was a logistically complicated trip, but having assistance at every transfer point greatly simplified things. The two guides Javier (Quito); Allan (Guayaquil), went above and beyond. The crew of Horizon was also excellent. I am grateful for all your hard work, which led to an easy and smooth trip.
