This adventure on San Cristobal won’t be taking you to the same old tourist sites as a regular island-hopping program. You’ll be having lots of fun in the sun as you take to the beaches for spectacular surfing lessons at Puerto Chino, while making sure to leave plenty of time for solo ventures on the many available trails and hikes on the island. You’ll also head out to sea to spend some time snorkeling at the ever-impressive Kicker Rock off the shores of San Cristobal. Later, you’ll explore bold coastlines that have been caressed for millions of years by both the sun and sea, creating striking and dramatic formations that will take your breath away.
3 Nights San Cristobal Adventure
ITINERARY
You will arrive at the San Cristobal Island airport with a transfer waiting to take you to your selected hotel. You’ll have lunch and then be transferred to your first visit at the Interpretation Center. In the three rooms of the center you will be taken on a ride through history as you learn more about the origin of Galapagos, the human history of the islands and the important efforts of conservation in place today and plans for the future.
Afterwards you will visit Tijeretas Hill, about 2 km away from the Interpretation Center. The name comes from the Spanish term for the frigate birds that frequent this area. Additionally, you will visit Punta Carola, one of the best places for surfing on San Cristobal Island. The beach has sand the color of gold and has areas of calmer waters where you can possibly view sea lions frolicking in the waves.

Afterwards you will visit Tijeretas Hill, about 2 km away from the Interpretation Center. The name comes from the Spanish term for the frigate birds that frequent this area. You will visit the spectacular Kicker Rock. This massive rock formation has been eroded for millions of years, leaving a gap between, perfect for snorkeling. You’ll venture out by boat, reaching the canal with a depth of 12 to 35 meters. You may see black-tipped, white -tipped, hammerhead and Galapagos sharks, octopus, eagle rays, sea turtles, enormous schools of fish and sea lions.
The afternoon excursion will be at either Manglesito beach, Puerto Grande or Cerro Brujo. Manglesito beach consists of two visiting areas; the mangroves and the beach. The mangrove area is ideal for observing aquatic bird life and the beach is perfect for relaxing or swimming. At Puerto Grande, you’ll visit a crescent shaped white-sand beach with stunning views. Cerro Brujo will show you amazing rock formations as a result of erosion by the wind, rain and ocean’s persistent waves.

Embark on an exciting tour, beginning from the breathtaking El Junco volcano and winding towards the viewpoint of solitude. From here, marvel at the stunning landscapes including the iconic sleeping lion, the enchanting Cerro Brujo, and the captivating Lobos Island. Our journey continues through El Progreso and Blue Hill, showcasing the region’s lush vegetation and the hidden gem – Socavon. Along the way, we pass by a bustling coffee plantation, a significant source of Galapagos’ export-quality coffee. Although not open to the public, this unique vantage point offers an intriguing glimpse into Galapagos’ coffee culture. Our tour concludes with a serene descent towards the port, rounding off a truly immersive Galapagos experience.
